Parishes Mission Statement

As Members of the St. Bridget and St. Stanislaus Kostka parishes of West Rutland, we reach out to our community through faith, prayer and service, and respond with compassion to the spiritual and corporal needs of all.

About Our Parishes

St. Bridget and St. Stanislaus Kostka churches are nestled in the beautiful foothills of the Green Mountains. Located in the quaint town of West Rutland, Vermont, these churches have served area Catholics for over 150 years.  An area once rich in Marble deposits, West Rutland became home to many people of diverse cultures.

These cultures gave rise to the rich histories of St. Bridget and St. Stanislaus Kostka Parishes.  We invite you to come and experience our parishes as we join together as one Catholic family in worship of our Father.

Thanksgiving Eve Mass

Since many will be busy preparing their homes for the Thanksgiving holiday, a Vigil Candle Mass of Thanksgiving will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov 26 at 5:30 pm at St. Stanislaus Kostka.
During Mass, members of the congregation will be invited to offer a votive candle to be placed in the sanctuary for a particular blessing or intention. This sacred time truly allows us to remember all that the Lord has done and continues to do for us.
Parishioners and guests are invited to bring food that will be shared on Thanksgiving Day to be blessed.
Thanksgiving Day MassThursday, November 27
A Mass of Thanksgiving will be celebrated at St. Bridget at our usual time of 8:30 am.

Presentation on Our Lady of Medjugorje

As we begin the season of Advent where our focus is on the Lord coming among us at the end of time and in his Nativity, our hearts are also drawn to the Blessed Mother, another dominant figure in Advent.

On Tuesday, Dec 2, Fr. Jim Lawrence of Loretto Home will present a talk on Medjugorje at St. Bridget parish hall at 6:30 pm.

Many have come to know Fr. Jim as a spiritual, kind, and compassionate priest. In his years of priesthood, Fr. Jim has traveled to Medjugorje several times and is enthusiastic about sharing his experience.

A short video is planned along with Fr. Jim’s presentation. There will be a time for reflection and questions and answers. The presentation will last 90 minutes.  We hope you can join us!
